Oh, we ain't got a barrel of money,
Maybe we're ragged and funny
But we travel along / Singin' a song / Side by side!

The Silver Newtones is a diverse choral community of mature adults dedicated to spreading the joy of music.

We provide an opportunity for participants to belong to a caring community of peers in which they can experience continuing growth, development and use of their talents, have joyful new adventures, and have the satisfaction and gratification of helping others through their love of singing.

The Silver Newtones perform at public concert venues, senior residences of all kinds, and at facilities for those unable to attend public events.

Madeleine, Halloween 2011 The Silver Newtones mourn the demise of a former long-time member and dear friend, Madeleine Osborn. She is remembered for her warm and gentle manner, her whimsical, creative humor (see her Halloween costume photo), and her sweet soprano voice. "Silent Night" sung in German was her special solo.

We rehearse most Wednesdays in fall, winter and spring from 1-2:30pm at the United Methodist Church, 430 Walnut Street, Newtonville MA 02460. Please contact our music director Joan Caplan at for information on joining us for a rehearsal.
